Brief on Universal Beams

The universal beam is also known as 'H' or 'I' beam because their cross-sectional form looks similar to the letter 'H' and 'I'. The horizontal portion of the universal beam is known as 'flanges' whereas the vertical central segment of the beam is known as 'web'. The beams with wide flanges are also known as 'W' beams. They provide strong vertical force support compared to a standard beam, although they do not work well against twisting and horizontal movement. They are an integral aspect of every construction project and wherever used to require intensive and hard weight support, it is used. They support the very foundation of housing structures and usually go under the walls, which have to bear the high load.

Many forms of these beams are available in the market. There is a variation of the track beam length, content or depth. Their measurements will vary depending on different areas and loads. Depending on the needs of the user, they can also be customized. If there is a long web length of the beam, then they can withstand more force in the vertical direction while the wider flanges can withstand more force than the side.

Generally, beams are made of cold or hot rolled steel, although sometimes aluminum is also used for this purpose. Although using steel as a material for your beam is a costly option compared to wood, it proves to be cheap in the long run. This is because steel beams are highly durable and they are hot, dip galvanized, prime paint for the care of the grill factor. Due to the pressure of the weight of many years, the steel beams do not taunt or sing or bend. The only thing that needs to be kept in mind is that they do not use them in the burden of burden. Otherwise, the building built using the universal beam section is sure to stand tall for several years at a time.

Wood beams cannot withstand the heavy duty pressure and are not useful for building the foundation. Most of them can be useful for small structures or for the second floor of a two-story house. Apart from this, more quantity of wood is required to provide continuous stability.

Due to long-lasting stability, there can be no alternative to steel in the form of material for the universal beam. Steel as a metal depends on its original structure and accordingly, you have light steel, stainless steel, and carbon steel. Each of them has specialized applications such as carbon steel fittings made of carbon steel fittings or carbon steel, while made of stainless steel along the V belt and so on.
