Tube Bending and Pipe Bending Principles

Bending the tube is one of the basic processes in metal construction. Both industrial pipes and tubes are an important commodity in manufacturing for construction and transportation of other materials. Most of the bent tube manipulation is used in the form of elements of structural components like handrails, metal furniture frames, and car roll cages, while piping is used for oil and water products, hydraulic systems and exhaust lines.

Tube bending process

There are several metal building techniques for bending and bending, including draws, presses, rams, and roll bending. They put emphasis on turning each metal and for them, all are general principles, which include elongation and turning radius. There are also tool functions in which there are specific ways of influencing the turn, such as Mandrels and Wiper. The correct application of all the principles affects the quality of pipes and tubes.

Bending force

When a tube is twisted, at this point the tube wall bends, in combination with the methods. The outer wall spreads and becomes thin, while the inner part becomes thick and compressed. This pipe is an important part of the bending process so that the distortion can be controlled so that it can be ensured that a smooth twist is obtained.

The larger the tube, the larger the radius of the turn, the less distortion is the problem. It bends the thin tube and tight bends which cause problems. Determine how to treat a tube by determining the factor of the wall, which is the proportion of thickness of the tube bending service wall for its diameter. A similar comparison is then made between the centerline radius of the pipes and the outer diameter to determine whether the bending radius is within the manageable range or not. Combining two factors allows the manufacturer to define the complexity of the turning, and therefore the right bending technique to use.

Where the walls of the tube will not be specifically compromised, a basic die set can be used, such as turning, clamp and pressure dye array. Where there will be a more obvious effect on the content of the bending tube, a lathe axle would be more suitable.

Mandrels

Where a basic die set is not suitable, a will be used. It is a device which can be inserted inside the pipe at the point of turn to provide support for the pipe while passing through the bending process. Where a turning tube will produce significant thinness of the wall, and an increased risk of flattening of the pipe at the point of turn will protect against this weakness.

Murals can be constructed in a number of ways, including a single plug or a series of connected balls that flex and adjust themselves, while turning on the tube. In addition to providing this internal support, a plug mandrel can help to put extra bending force on thick pipes, which can be more difficult to shape.

Wiper dies

When a tube is placed in important tension during bending, such as when a thin pipe is bent to a narrow radius, then there may be the contraction of the inner wall, resulting in pipe wall wrinkles. The possibility of wrinkles with wiper dye decreases. The wiper is designed to keep between the tubes and bending dying between the dying. It makes for a tight fit between dying and pipe and leaves no room for developing wrinkles. Wiper dye is often used with a lathe to give maximum support to the pipe.

Elongation

Enlargement describes the degree in which the material formed by the pipe before the structural failure can be increased. Since the stretch of material is always somewhat in the pipe bending services, it is a matter of concern for manufacturers. The general rule is that as the bending radius gets smaller, the content will increase as much.

In many cases, the selection of the correct metal or material for a particular application is determined by the amount of elongation which can be expected during bending and construction. For example, stainless steel can be an expensive alternative to producing a tube, but it also has greater elongation than other grades of steel, so it can be chosen as the most suitable material If the pipe has to bend with a tight radius.
